Church of the Good Shepherd (Incorporated 2008) is the consolidation of the Church of the Holy Comforter, corner of St. Georges and Seminary Avenues, and St. Paul’s Church, corner of Irving Street and Elm Avenue.

We welcome all people to join us in our new ministry in the City of Rahway and Central New Jersey.  It is our hope to continue the work of the Episcopal Church in this area by strengthening the many years of service of both former parishes and building up the community of believers in Jesus Christ of this new parish.

General Annoucements

•We ask that you return the 2011 Pledge cards, as soon as possible. They are needed to prepare the 2011 Parish Budget.

Altar Guild Members Needed Anyone interested in helping take care of the Altar by setting up before church service and cleaning up after church service please see Chris or Maxine.

Flower or Candles If you would like flowers or candles on the altar in memory, anniversary, birthday, or celebration of your family or friends please contact Angela. Candles are $10.00. Flowers are $30.00

Food Certificates The church is running a wonderful fundraiser, when you purchase Pathmark, Shoprite, and A&P certificates from Jerry the church receives 5% of your purchase. For example, you pay $20 for a Shoprite certificate, you get a $20 Shoprite certificate, and the church gets $1. Please see Jerry or pick up an order form in the rear of the church.

April 1 at 7:00pm - Stations of the Cross - Spanish

April 2 at 8:30am - Rummage Sale in the Guild Room until 11am.
April 2 at 2:00pm - Inquiry Class meets in the Guild Room. You are invited to participate in the Inquiry Class - This class is for those who are new to the Episcopal Church, Inquiry is a place to learn more, a place of welcome, asking questions and discerning God's call. Meets for four Saturdays (March 26th, April 2nd, 9th & 16th) from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the Guild Room. This will be Phase I of the Christian Formation Program for Adults. Many parishioners may be interested in attending, even though they have been in the church for many years, because there is always new material to become familiar. Please join us.

April 3 at 8:00am, 10:00am, 12:00pm (Spanish) - Church Service
April 3 at 9:00am - Adult Bible Study meets in the Auditorium until 9:45am. This study will walk through the Gospel of St. Matthew. Bring your Bible, pen, and notebook.
